    gloomis stinger 12' 6" 8/9. cant wait to stick some winter steelies.

    Is that short spey rod for smaller more intimate coastal waters?

    My guidely buddy Mike McCune up in Oregon is wild for those Sage 11' Switch rods with Skagit lines on them.

    He is using the #6 line and the #8 line the most.

    That makes sense, since I am no good at skagit casting I didn't like those Sage rods for my more traditional style of casting. I have cast some specialized skagit spey rods and I didn't like the feel. Different strokes for different folks.
