Middle Fork American River
I fished the Middle Fork this evening with my brother-in-law. I hadn't fished that river in about ten years. My brother-in-law, who's fairly new to fly fishing totally showed me up. He landed a nice rainbow and hooked into a monster that broke him off. Both fish took a #12 Hare's Ear. The hot fly for me was a #50/0 Skunk.
