Fished the Middle Fork last night (6:30-9:00), no hatch. I have never been to a river that had no evening hatch. The water was real high, maybe that kept the bugs down, it was also a little windy. Did manage to get one on for about 10 seconds on a bugger. Just when I was going to give up on the Middle Fork (about 8:30). I tied on one of my custom X-caddises, on the third cast hooked into the biggest 14inch rainbow you ever saw . Man it just felt good to not get skunked for a third time. Had one more strike on the caddis, but only saw 4 naturals. I have never been fishing until dark and seen so little surface activity. I thought the water would be exploding with fish and bugs as the sun went down. But at least I got one .

Thanks to Jeff P. for the tip on the X-caddis, you saved my night.
