Default NF Yuba, Fall River, Truckee and lower McCloud River good.

We have had good reports this week for all four streams.

In this heat they will not be good for a lot longer though.

Just returned from another week in Downieville.
The heat has pushed the fish down. You can still get a good hatch in the evening, but it's short lived.

The Truckee near town is too warm during the day, I'd fish until noon then quit and go somewhere else...Water temps feel like swimming water and there are plenty of swimmers taking advantage.

Fished the Fall River out of Circle 7 lodge last weekend. The fishing was excellent in the AM up river of the Cal Trout put in. Z- wing caddis emergers stripped in slowly just subsurface and PMD drys did the trick till noon. HOT... HOT...HOT in the afternoon so we all got off the water till the evening.

The Hex are impossible to miss . They are coming off in low numbers but are through out the river, all the way up to the red barns located just down stream of the Circle 7. Hex cripples were the most productive. Average two fish per person per night. The fish that take the Hex are biguns so it takes awhile to get them in out of the darkness . By then the hatch is over and it is time to run the gauntlet back to the lodge in the dark. Scary in a john boat with a five horse motor and no lights other then what you carry with you. ....Anne
