Thread: Watt Avenue Skunk

    Default Watt Avenue Skunk

If fished up and down the Watt stretch pretty hard last night and got only a bite or two. No fish. Are the fish higher up towards the basin, sailor's bar, and/or sunrise? Or, are they down towards paradise? I'd like to do less fishing and more catching. So, any suggestions would help. Thanks.

With the flow around 5000 cfs I would think the Shad are in the first mile or two of the river below Nimbus Dam.

That makes sense. I'll give the basin a try next time. I've heard that can be on fire for shad. It certainly can be for other species. Thanks, Bill.

A friend and I tried Sailor Bar on Saturday morning and got nothing. I had one on for a couple seconds, but saw none swimming and didn't land any. Where the heck are they?

I got 7 and a 6 lb striper yesterday afternoon at Sailor Bar. After I hooked the striper the shad bit disappeared. Jeff C.
