    Default NF Yuba reports

Has anybody fished the NF Yuba lately near Downieville? Headed there
this w/e to do a combo fly fishing/mountain biking excursion. Strangely I haven't seen the NF listed in any reports lately.

    Any reports mucho appreciatedo.....

I haven't been up there this year but given the way things are going in the rest of the Sierra I would bet a large sum of $$ that is is "on fire" right now.

I was thinking of sneaking up there before the water gets too low/too warm.

    Have fun.

Flows look perfect on the North Yuba, I've never fished there myself but want to try it out soon when I have a chance...

Let us know how it goes

It could be good right now with the low run-off this year.

I have a cabin just outside of Downieville on the NF. Generally the end of June into July fishes the best. It does fish great through early Aug. in parts though. There are also some killer tribs up there.

I'll be there next week and be sure to tell you how bad it's fishing when I get back.

    Default NF Yuba report

Fished this past Saturday and Sunday on the NF Yuba and
a few of the small tributaries. Fish are taking stimulators on
top...even the dinks we caught hammered a size 8-10 stimulator
Attractors got grabs too...royal wulff etc. Lots and lots of
bugs crusing about. Size 16 little yellow stones...maybe
    size 18...talk about bright yellow!

Had a few large trout come completely out of the water for
dries, but not too many big fish this trip. Still fun on a
2wt Orvis buggy whip (full flex). Try nymphing with
    a full flex...next to impossible...sheesh.

Always plenty of water to choose from 'round Downieville though.

Oh, and the mountain biking was exceptional...16 miles of downhill
    on Saturday. I'm still spent.

There aren't a lot of larger fish up there, but when you take in the sights and solitude...it's well worth it!!

I have a 1wt TXL that I love up there. The smaller fish are fun and there are plenty. If you're a big fish person, the NF is not for you!!

I'll be there tomorrow for 5 days of fishing, swimming and relaxing. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Just got back from 5 days of fishing the NF and it's terrible. Don't go there!
