American Flow Increase 6/9/07

The American is scheduled to begin a flow increase on Sat. The flow is to be ramped up slowly to 2,000 cfs by 5:30 pm.

But it hasn't been good to me so far:

6/10 - fished 2 hrs sunset at Paradise; had one brief hookup; saw one other hookup among 6 fishermen upstream. Saw some shad cruising up the loghole riffle at dusk. A few rollers. Water temp ~67 degrees.

6/11 -watched fishermen near Barrington access; saw NO hookups for 5-6 fishermen in ~15 minute watch. Did not try it. No rollers, no fish seen.

also, on the Yuba:

6/9 - fished 2 hrs sunset at Hallwood; no hookups, some surface activity at dusk but looked smaller than shad. One other fisherman is all. Water temp ~ 63 degrees.

Flows back down to 1530 cfs.

Fished last nite at Sailors for approx 10 shad.

Took Monday off work and hit some of the regular spots. Started at Sunrise About 6am Fished the gravel bar for about and hour 0. Hit Sailors Bar for ahour and a half 0 On the way down 50 I tried Watts. Each time I gave them a variety of colors. The water was back up from the week before.If the shad are spread out thru the river I'm thinking the flow may have them off

Flows back up to 2500. Saw huge school at Upper Sunrise on Wed, before the flows went back up. Went down to the El Manto area and got into some before getting out at Rossmore. To tired to make it out last nite, didn't wake up from my nap till 7:15 Probably hit Sailors tonite.
