man, i had the worse luck on the west walker and the east walker just below the dam last week. not having a campsite ready, i had to reserve the evenings for finding a spot to camp, and i'm not a morning person at all. stayed at green creek but didn't fish it (hoping to get into some of the dry fly action on the east walker the second day in the area i'd heard about).

instead, hit the west walker one afternoon and the east walker the next late morning and late afternoon. not one fish sighted. hatches coming off on the east walker, birds loving it with midair grabs, but the wind was terrible on both rivers and nothing rising. the west walker, surely 30 mph winds. east, maybe 20mph. i'm guessing right now the best tactic is to fish these rivers in the early morning or evenings. i fished all types of dries and some nymphs and spiders.
