Default Long rods make you look smaller?

Joe Shirshac, Mac Holloway, Jack Sturdevant, Chris Pasley and I were helicopter camping for two weeks on the Dear River in British Columbia about 20 years ago.

Across the river one afternoon we saw this little guy walking up stream on the opposite back. He looked like a dwarf to us. We were trying not to laugh too loud.

But then we figured it out. He was a little short, maybe, but had a really big, long two-handed Spey outfit.

We had heard about them but had actually never seen one on a river.

The longer the rod the more attractive to the ladies!

Some have rods longer than others.
Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Jake: Hit it.

    I always thought 9 feet was plenty but maybe I need to re-think. . . .

Despite what you may have heard (or want to believe ) size really does matter

It's not the size of the rod it's how you use it!
