I made it out to the Consumnes River Preserve today and found one willing egret.
Which one do you like, color of B&W?

Spectacular........................
DDT was banned in the US in 1973 and sense then the bird populations have really recovered.
We are so lucky to have birds in places where we fly fishing.

I like the color picture best because it shows the bird with all its beauty.

You might see if the CA DF&G, Nature Conservancy or the Federal Fish & Wildlife would like to have those photos?

Very nice pics!
They are fine fishermen in their own right... or else. A matter of survival for them.
Not easy to get close to them guys. What mm lens did it the job?

fly: Very light artificial fly fishing lure of which there are two types: the dry fly which isn't supposed to sink the way it just did; and the wet fly, which shouldn't be floating up on the surface like that. An Angler's Dictionary.
Great pictures, I like the one in color as well. As Ron noted, a very difficult-to-approach bird, which is what I think makes these very clear images special.

Chuck Norris has already been to Mars; that's why there are no signs of life.
I lived down the road in Thornton which back then the bridge was closed so our street didn't get much traffic. I used to ride my bike or walk down onto the preserve. It's a really cool place first thing in the morning on a foggy day.
