Great project, Joe. Good thing you have the ability to do the work, that would cost a small fortune to have done. Another plus is that you can build in your own custom features.

What is a pompom?
Tie up some black and chartreuse buggers and try those, too.
A guy left his wallet on my roof when I gave him a ride home from college. He was a busboy and had about $250 in ones and fives in it. I looked in my mirror when I heard it flutter and fly off, I...
There are stripers in the Pajaro river. I hit it on opening day for a few minutes before work, saw a couple landed. Lots of stripers are caught along the beach from the Pajaro to Capitola. My...
Nice work!
That bass is bite size for the bigguns Try a baby bass Clouser. Olive over white with some gold flashabou lateral line. Small, like a 6. Works for me sometimes, I've never fished Berryessa though.

I don't know anything about it, but it looks pretty cool so I thought someone might be interested.

Caught fish last weekend on damsels and calibaetis. Go Bill.
Great thread! Very entertaining, thank you for the information. Pyramid can be misery or excitement.
Tony, Adjust your trim tab anode to the right to stop the motor from pulling right.

In one of Gary Lafontaine's books he recommends using a 2 piece in an aluminum case for backpacking which doubles as a hiking staff.
I have mostly 4 piece rods, for traveling ease, but I keep the ones I use the most fully rigged in two piece rod and reel cases. That way I just whip it out and fish!

I agree with you all, snacks are a must, scouting or pre-fishing helps, blue gill ponds for sure. Quit when they get bored and do something else for fun so they will still want to go fishing with you...

I sent a comment to FERC supporting Caltrout, TU, NCCFFF proposal. Only took a couple minutes.

Good job, Dad.
Well, there was water in my truck bed when I unloaded the pram, so I think the rear floatation is saturated, so more weight. I'll hole saw a couple holes, let it dry, and patch it. That's what I did...
This one probably is from the '70s, you can barely make out the faded letters "Columbia" on the plate. Like I said, it could use some love, or at least some paint.
I picked up a Columbia pram yesterday. The guy I bought it from said he has fished in it from the kelp beds at Capitola to Hat creek and Baum. Heavy and needs TLC to look good, but it will fish just...
Make your own. Bungee it to the pontoon beside you.

I bought a brand new 389 LL last year for $500, the full price on the sticker. It was new in the tube with the warranty card, which the retailer filled out and sent in. I saw it one day when the...
I have learned about many great, "uncrowded" fishing spots in the magazine or online. I also wondered, what would possess a guy to write about his secret spot? Like probably most of the other...
Well I'm not hating on Stripers and pikeminnows, and I want to protect our fisheries. I just want to know the truth about predation. Naturally, about 50% of the salmon get eaten by some kind of...
I Googled "striped bass predation chinook salmon" and found studies indicating that Pikeminnow and Striped bass each consume about 10% of the salmon smolts.
