Any thoughts on using a dubbed nymph (hare's ear, bird's nest, etc) vs one that isn't?
I feel like the dubbed nymphs seem to catch on fish's teeth better and stay in their mouths longer than ones...

that douglas city to junction city float is nice.
the only issue is that it is pretty long so you end up doing a lot of floating and not as much fishing on the nice runs as I would like to.
But...
that place is rad.
the crazies are the ones who kayak down those falls!!
hostel tahoe in kings beach is nice, and cheap.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a foam pfd, as opposed to an auto-inflate one.
The Stohlquist and the Lotus Patagonia are great.
The auto-inflate ones can rip off of your body very easily in moving...
Those patagonia gloves are good, so are these.
though I try to keep them dry, they perform well when wet.

interesting. ive never had any issues with the actual drag freezing.. definitely water can get in and freeze where the spool meets the outer rim of the reel...
maybe the grease gets hardened? Is...
a reel with a sealed drag helps....

That river is beautiful.
Crazy how much it had changed since the flood a few months ago.
Im heading to the Trinity or Klamath this weekend. Any advice would be great.
Probably...
spent the last 3 days on the sandy. fished the nature concervancy (penthouse run) and fished oxbow.
Fished every legal minute minus ~1hour for lunch each day. Between 3 guys we got 2 hookups...
so we did ok.
Caught a lot of dinks, uneder 14". One 5lber (first fish).
We fished Sand Mound and Mildreds, and Little Mandville.
hope to go back soon

I would like to give my recommendation to Colton Fly Company.
They are USA designed and made reels. I have been using the Tradewinds rod for a few years now and love it. The reels are great...
Thank Tony! That is a help.
We will be fishing Saturday from dawn till around 3. It is an incoming tide starting at 6AM till 1PM. ...
I will be fishing the Delta this weekend looking for Stripers.
We will be fishing clousers and whistlers in Piper and Sand Mound Slough.
If you have any recommendations or beta to share let me...

nice boat:

I ripped out the seating in my 13, added a small carolina skiff center console and used a cooler as the seat. it worked out pretty well. I miss that boat, but will have another 13 someday.
yeah I waited about a year for mine and traveled 300 miles one way. It was well worth it.
Those 130's are nice boats. Too small for me though. If I see a nice 130 I will post it here on this...
I fished a 13 for a while, now I have a 17, not 170
I think a 13 was great size-wise for fishing one or 2, but too small for running around.
Dang it was a harsh ride in anything other than flat...
I used my boat, but Bob can put you onto local guides.
lost several that size and larger too.
Just got back from the weekend fishing the Williamson.
Stayed at the Williamson River Retreat (http://www.williamsonriverretreat.com) with Bob Rathborne.

Just got back from a weekend stay at the Williamson River Retreat near Chiloquin, OR.
Wow.
A beautiful lodge with great amenities, 10 acres private...
My understanding is that birds, mammals, crustaceans, etc actually eat small pieces of lead (think small splitshot) and then they get lead poisoning.
