This is what I use on the Rogue River from October until mid December.

It has been a slow season for me, tons of trout and very few adults. Here is a 20” wild fish taken this afternoon on a drab Size 8 flly while swinging.19567

Thanks for the kind words. Fall steelhead season off to a very slow start for me.

Steelhead have no spots below the lateral line. Not alway there is an orange mark on the lower jaw.

Catch them in the Fall when fishing for Fall Steelhead. Primarily taken on Size 6 drab flies. Here is another beautiful coastal cutthroat from last fall

Luckily every year am able to catch and release1-3 of these beautiful fish. Mostly 14-18”s long.

In 2016 I caught and released a 36”, 23 pound fish and my guess this fish is in the 28 pound range. The attached fish was 27 pounds and the one I posted looks bigger.

Back at it late this afternoon before a storm moving in tonight. Swinging caught and released these two females of 18” and 23” all within 10 miles of the house.
