Working great, no problems for me on laptop and phone.
Utah wasn't really on our radar until I realized Salt Lake City has some of the best medical care in the surrounding states.
I will definitely check out Logan, thanks for letting me know about it....
Handful of things we're having to factor into our decision. Tired of a lot of things about CA, wish it was easier to leave.
There's a special place for people like that.
I worry about this too often when I go fishing/camping.
To this day I remember camping with my parents (40yrs ago) near Pollard Flat, and creeps...
Should mention that my wife has a passion for fishing almost as much as I do. Her passion for being outdoors is probably as strong as mine is.
I'm very lucky to have a wife who likes the...
Thanks again Bill for your reply.
Our thought was if we are to stay within CA, to move closer to mountains/tree areas just outside of Sacramento. It would put us in a much better position for...
PV_Premier,
I appreciate your insight on the area.
After doing more research I don't think the Auburn area will be the best fit. Especially the fact that the air quality can be bad. Because of...
Jeff, Thanks for your reply and all of this info.
Steep hikes aren't in the cards for us right now.
I thought Deer Creek was out hwy 32 outside of Chico?
Yes, thanks for giving us an update. I do appreciate it.
Thanks for your reply mattv-mcfly. I've looked at a couple of the places you've mentioned too. Bear River does look interesting.
If we don't end up out of state we're trying to stay reasonably close to Sonoma County because of family and clients.
Redding/Red Bluff would be great if it wasn't so darn hot. Out of state we've...
Bill,
Thank you for the reply.
Guess I should have been a little bit more specific in my description. We mostly enjoy wet wading in smaller size rivers (Pit 3/4 and McCloud, Trinity) for trout...
Looking for some new water (rivers) and possibly relocating to this area. Wife and I are going to make a move withing the next 1-3 years and searching out possible spots in CA and some out of state. ...
Thanks for this info, I appreciate it.
Hope you have a great trip.
Steve, thanks again for this updated information.
We were planning a trip to McCloud and driving in from Big Bend next month. Is there a way to sign up for updates about this from PGE?
Thanks
Don't have first hand info but this gets updated frequently. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/stnf/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5165648
Don't know what fishing (if any) will be like with the high flows....
Steve,
Thanks for the update and the pics!
Steve,
I appreciate these updates that you've given us here.
Was hoping to fish and camp at Ash Camp next month, obviously not heading in from the dam. Been really missing this place.
No...
About 11 yrs ago I was gifted a Orvis Madison 5wt 7'-6" bamboo rod. It's amazing. Soon after though my wife decided to confiscate it for her own use when we fish. I have a few Winston Wt rods that...
Wanted to give an update.
First off the flows that I was seeing online (390 @ Pit 4) were not what they were when I arrived. If I had to guess it was 450-500. Water was flowing over a rock I used...
Yes, and enjoyed it.
"Back in the day", we seemed to do the best end of May and early June. YMMV
I've never done as well on the Pit since they raised the flows.
Thank you Bill and Jeff for your replies.
I'm hoping it's on fire too.
Excited about the flows. Haven't seen it like that for some time.
Was going to head up to Pit River for a few days.
Can anyone confirm that the road going over the dam is open?
Work was supposed to been completed on Sept. 2.
Any fishing reports? Flows are...
I had heard they were going to start repairs this year. Hopefully things will go smoothly and the repairs will be done by next year. Really miss fish in that place.
Thanks for the update.
