That's what I thought, I must have misread the regs. Thank you mark
Jeff
Does anyone know if the upper American (sailor bar etc..) closes at all this year? I thought in years past it closed for a couple months but I looked up this years regs and I don't see anything about...
Good to hear Jim, I'll try and get up there on my next couple days off
Thank you pv for the info and encouragement. There's no quitting here. It's funny how fly fishing makes you take in your environment and surroundings, and , at least for me personally, gives you a...
Sorry one more thing, I did read that some guides are doing great on the lower yuba so it might be they just weren't biting that day
I went last week and I didn't get a bite, but then again I'm still a beginner. I saw for other guys around and from the sound of it I think they might have got a bite or two. One bit of good news is...
Mine just sprung a leak also when I was at the lower yuba. Tried to fix it with gorilla glue to no avail. I guess there's this stuff called aqua seal that will fix leaks on waders.
I will say this, I got a staph infection in my arm about 5/6 years ago and trust me when say it sucked. However, I didn't get it from wading in water, just a scratch on my arm that itched was all it...
Do still steelhead/trout typically "hide" during stormy weather? I know some other species of fish don't usually bite when it's wet weather, just wondering if that is true for steelhead/trout.
Well I can't give you any update on the fishing but I can sympathize with you on wanting to fish but the wife having other ideas :D Jeff
Gotcha, thanks guys.
Sorry guys, I've got another newbie question.I've heard a couple guys refer to something called "salmon redds". I'm assuming they are talking about salmon eggs but you know what they say about...
Bill, you'll have to excuse me as I'm pretty green to the sport. I've fished the American quite a bit but have not had much luck. So I've tried my luck on the lower yuba and still not much luck, and...
Question....if I'm out and I don't see any mayflies or bugs on the top water and/or see fish rising can i assume I need to use nymphs? What kind of nymphs should I use, if I turn over some rocks and...
Thank you john for the info, maybe need to head to the mountains and practice there a little more
Oh wow that's a big damn rainbow. And you can't use a motorized boat right, strictly kayak, drift or pontoon?
Thank you matt, I appreciate the insight
Anyone ever fish lake natomas and if so what kind of fish are in there? Just wondering...maybe another spot to try out while I wait on the rain
Thanks guys I appreciate the stories!!! I have been fly fishing on and off for about a year ( my fiancee and I had our first child in that time so I as the pregnancy got closer tending to her...
Just curious, how long did it take from the point where you first picked up a fly rod to when you landed your first fish? Trying to see if I'm screwing up or if I'm in the norm
Thank you matt, I appreciate it
Thank you pv, I appreciate the help.
Hey everyone, tomorrow I'm going to give the lower yuba a shot, it will be my first time fishing this river and I'm just curious as to where exactly to fish. I've read it's good at daguerre dam but...
I agree I've been down to sailor bar a few times gunning for steelhead and the water flow is depressing that's for sure. I think I'm going to fish the lower yuba and lower feather till the American...
