I use the “Golden Shadow” line of Leonards graphite rods for large trout. It casts great and has an extremely soft action. One of them is a prototype that I think JK Fisher made for them. This one is...

Five years ago I was misinformed by the Oregon auxiliary sheriff staff that I need my card to boat in Oregon. Oregon has reciprocity with California so I began the process to obtain mine. At that...
You will catch more and much larger fish, exceeding 10 pounds.
In free market capitalism, prices regulate themselves.
Is this still available?
It’s open now and not crowded.
Great news about Eagle I didn’t think it would ever be full again! Love fishing around the tules in the north end of the lake.
A little off topic but McCumber Reservoir, just a little down the road, is ice-free and fishing well for some.
Have a 2017 Grandby and love it, light 975 lbs and a giant step above my camper shell. I spend between 50 and 60 days a year camping in it.
MOSCOW, Idaho — A University of Idaho study provides evidence that the practice by anglers of holding a fish out of water before releasing it has no impact on the fish’s survival or its ability to...
Looks like the mouth of Harriman cr. The bay fished great today, 33 in the net with one just a hair over 10 lbs.
Wow, I can’t even imagine how good the fishing must have been in those days. I did catch my biggest dry fly rainbow on the Williamson in 1976, 9.75 lbs on a Rosborough bucktail caddis bought in the...
Last week a huge yellow algae bloom occurred and is still present. Is 72 degrees ok to fish? I know the temps deeper are in the 50’s and 60’s.
Younger fly fishers don’t know what we had. Fish hard now it’s only going to get worse.
The north nets were epic on Sunday and Monday. I think there were 5 fish over 20 lbs caught and a bunch of fish between 10 and 15. 75 ladders out. You had to be there by 4 to get a spot on Tuesday....
If you don’t want to go that far north there’s Lassen trout ponds in Red Bluff. They really feed those fish heavily so they get big quickly. The terrain in that picture look similar to those ponds.
There’s a great research video of a brook trout held by a landing glove then over a couple of weeks the tail slowly rotted off that fish. Brook trout are wimps.
I’ll be down in Bay Area on the 1st of Oct. if you send me you name and address I’ll send you a check and if you can just hold on to it till then you’ve got a deal.
The golden age of fly fishing in California has passed. Enjoy what’s left now.
If still available I’m interested in the sea level basket.
Yes and no it doesn’t sink.
If you’ve got one in 5 or 6 wt and don’t use it let me know. Thanks
I’ve owned the same 14 foot Klamath for 30 years and fish out of it more than 80 days a year. No leaks or problems and would recommend them. I’ve not had to call the company so I don’t know about...
I’ve used the splice for 20 years and never had one fail. I use leaders 18-20 feet and don’t like the others knots that catch guides. This year I’ve landed three trout over 10 lbs one of which was...
Have the snails had a demonstrable impact on the fish?
