Sam...either listen to Shig (this guy is WELL informed), or pull the trigger on the Scadden. Either way, you'll be happy...both crafts are quality and owners of each generally like 'em.

Scott...save your gas, time and money, Topaz (if you were considering it) isn't worth the effort (IMNSHO). I've fished it a few times, and don't plan on going back...there are too many other lakes...

Use 6X tippet and strike really hard. Don't let them have their head and strip them in quickly.
Or use spinning gear.

I've been using #14 & #16 buggers for some time. I like 'em a lot...obviously, it depends on the stillwater situation & what I'm reading, but you bet, they can be killer flies.

Copepods are disgusting to look at and a shame they have to infest one of Gods most beautiful creatures, the Rainbow Trout. I haven't fished Lake Davis in the past few years since the infestation...

Am I missing something?...I didn't see a price anywhere!
