I, too, am interested in a small trailer. I was thinking about Harbor Freight's trailer, which is less expensive than any of the options mentioned in this thread. I wonder if it's a decent product...
I almost forgot to report on my trip.
As it turned out, I didn't spend much time fishing in the Lakes Basin. I fished at Long Lake from 7:30 to 10:00 one morning. Lots of midges flying around, but...
When I fish Davis in the Fall, I usually stay at Sleepy Pines. I've also stayed at Sierra Motel. In my experience they're both OK for a basic, economical motel.
I also stayed at the Chalet View...
OK, I'll check it out. Now I'm about to hit the road -- will report back here next week.

Thanks, Jay. I appreciate the tips.

Hey guys. I'll be staying at Gold Lake next week. I've never fished in the Lakes Basin before. I'm not bringing a boat or tube, wonder what is my best bet fishing from the bank. There are a lot of...
I fished all day yesterday (Saturday) around Cow Creek and it was a nice Fall day, but windy from 10 until after 5. Water temps around 50-52. I don't think anyone in my area was catching great...
I think it would be reasonable to limit classified ads to fishing-related products, and unless a vehicle floats it isn't really fishing-related, IMO.
Up the creek.
EDIT: Why are my pictures always presented in thumbnail form? I mean, this trout is so small, it needs all the magnification it can get!

Good one. I like how he starts with a little cup of coffee (I assume) from his thermos.
Jon,
Thank you for talking about sight-fishing in the Fall at Lake Davis. I finally tried it on Friday and Saturday, and it was fun! I couldn't have done it without the knowledge you share freely...
SHig, did you pack in a tube? I know the banks aren't usually very accessible but I don't see any waders in those pics.
Jon, great posting as usual. I love fishing little creeks.
Your 10 essentials list has got me thinking, how do you carry all that when you're bushwhacking? Day pack?
Also wondering what's in...
I found some more info about processing fly tying materials:

Considering the health concerns and effort required, I don't think it's worth it for...
I found a fox squirrel run over by a car in a Bay Area suburb. I thought the tail could be used as fly tying material, so I cut it off and put it in my garage to "dry out". Then a friend told me that...
nasty weed but it sure is pretty
Thanks everyone for all of your great suggestions. We had a good trip, found a small stream with lots of wild fish taking dry flies. It was awesome! My cousin caught and released his first trout, a...
I'm very allergic to poison oak and the best treatment I know is an injection of prednisone from my dermatologist. You can't do this all the time and obviously it requires a prescription, but it...
Never fished the Little Walker but I'd like to check it out. How do you get there? (I have to go find my old topo map.)
I thought about Kirman but we won't have float tubes on this trip.
Thanks for those suggestions. I wonder, what would be some good lakes near South Lake Tahoe or in Alpine County right now?

I'll be driving from South Lake Tahoe to Pinecrest on Friday, looking for a stream or lake (in Calif.) where conditions are good right now. Any suggestions? I'm trying to help my cousin catch his...
Yeah, and the golf course was advertised as environmentally-friendly.
Wow, what a popular topic. I wouldn't describe myself as pro-gun or anti-gun, but I own lots of them and one thing I know is guns are heavy. I don't want to carry anything that weighs me down because...
