I took a well deserved (IMHO) day off work today and did a little AR shad recon bank fishing trip today. I started at Howe and worked my way up, spending about an hour at each stop. Howe = nothing....

And I got skunked this morning too. Seems to be these 100 to 200 fish pods moving around and you have to be in the right place at the right time. Shortly, hopefully, the 1000 or more fish pods will...

The sun was just rising when I was out and there wasn't much light, but the water appeared clear.

That school that was at Harrington yesterday must have moved up over night. I caught ten in about 45 minutes before work this morning on a Bloody Maria at Ancil Hoffman. It was non-stop action.

I was at Harrington for awhile yesterday and a sea lion was there as well, munching fish. That obviously doesn't help the bite at all.

The Sunrise foot bridge kids were slaying them this afternoon. I saw at least 30 on stringers and in buckets.

Not sure if they were down runners or fresh fish moving up.

Uh oh.... was planning on going out tomorrow. Don't tell my wife they might be done.

And just as sadly, a lot of big American River stripers have been killed in the 32 days the DFW regulations have been effect. I've seen many speared stripers being dragged to vehicles with my own...

I did very well above Sunrise yesterday evening. The have indeed moved up.
