Make sure you start with a soft hackle from a hen neck. Like Jbird I counter wrap, but with copper wire. Makes for a very durable fly.

The shad are probably at Verona. The Feather is at over 25K and the Sacramento is at16K! I don't think I'll be wading the bar this season, it was good the last two years. Got to have a boat to fish...
