Just curious, was the tree still in the river at Steeple riffle?
I'm not sure if the tree is still down at Steeple Riffle, but you might want to scout out first and maybe walk your boat through. Maybe others who float the river might know and weigh in.
I've been in this boat and what Brian describes it can do is accurate. It is a sweet rig and perfect for all of our valley rivers. If I didn't have something somewhat similar, I'd buy it.
Hi Carl- good looking fly. I need to tie a few for a trip down there in a couple of weeks. What materials do you use? Thanks.
That is one sweet setup. Raft and jet boat. I've learned that the perfect boat is....just one more:)
All great advice on this thread. Wish I had some of it when I was searching for the right jet boat. Having owned four or five now, I will add my 2 cents of what I've learned.
If you are not...
A buddy and I were planning a float this afternoon on the A. Just saw the flows dropped to 1750 CFS overnight. What are the thoughts about fishing it today or giving it time to settle? Thanks.
Okay...the last three posts were funny as hell. I'm still laughing. Glad you got enough popcorn for everyone!!
That is one sweet setup. With 6 feet wide, it would be super stable and draft high in the water, just what you want for shallow running. Boy, if I didn't have a jet sled, a jet jon, drift boat, and...

Thanks Bill and Dennis for the feedback. I appreciate it.
I've always wanted to take my jet up the lower klamath this time of year for half-pounders on a spey. For those of you who have done it, do you have any advice on where you stay, running the river,...
Registering and transferring title via online will be a back and forth, with fees due, etc. And it will take 4+ months -COVID, workload, etc. Best option, make an in person appointment and take the...
Hi Bob,
I'll take them. Consider them sold. I'll PM you for the details. Thanks, Mike
I was going to fish the Klamath last Aug/Sept swinging switch rod for half pounders with a new jet boat I bought. Always heard the first 15 miles or so could be lots of fun, however, upon researching...
Sutter Marine is the best around for G3 boats. They have some in stock or can order what you need. I bought a 1652 G3 from them with a 60/40 Jet Yamaha years ago. Very knowledgeable and can answer...
Well....if you could put that jet on the raft, that would be something to see:)
I have a 3pc. 8wt. RPLxi. It doesn't handle even close to older SAGE faster rods, such as the Xi2 or Salt, but can be lots of fun throwing nothing more than a 280-300gn line. When certain...

Great story, Bob. Thanks for sharing.
That's great! The little summer cottage on the beach was on the logging road behind the Beachcomber, but up near Ten Mile. I used to ride my bike up on that road long before it was open and fish...
I was raised in the Beachcomber Motel. About the time you caught your first steelhead, the motel was just a few years old or maybe was under construction. My folks bought it in 1971. I haven't...
No that wasn't me. We used to get to the Noyo by either driving out to southfork when the gate was open, which was often back then, or we would hillscramble off Sherwood Road. Ten Mile was a very...
Noyo55 is correct about the access. I grew up in Fort Bragg in 70's and 80's and access was still pretty tight back then, but being kids, we always found ways to get in, especially on the Noyo. We...
