This is what I use. Find the depth by hanging a hemostat off your leader. Works great for fishing midge larva. Nothing like 20"+ trout on size 20 or smaller flies.

The high flows were seasonal back then, not man-made out of season flows unnaturally occurring when the insects are most vulnerable.

This is a great hybrid raft. I used one floating down the Kisaralik River in Alaska for 14 days.

I've given several away, so I'm down to four, but I will likely be getting a Norvise later this year.

Any one of these is all a sane person would need:

That's what I understood Ralph's statement to mean. My puzzlement is why/how the leader got underneath the boot to begin with.
