Even my high water spots are under water. There is high water on top of the high water. Crazy. I managed to land 6 in about 5 hours of fishing. Lost a few as well. Almost all on stones, a couple...
I made it up to Dunsmuir today and managed to sneak away for about an hour to check out the river. WOW! I don't think I've ever seen that much water in the river at this time of year. Kind of...
Hey there, if you fish for Tarpon, you could be a part of an economic impact study that the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust is doing. Follow the link for more info...

I did raft guide training on the SFA a few years back (part of Friends of the River) and I was amazed to see a couple of pretty massive March Brown hatches... no noses poking up...
Well, at least you got out. If I were heading there (and I just might, if I can get the time, since it is about 20 minutes away) I wouldn't fish anything over 400-500 CFS. With the flows going up...
On a low release day the whole "high water mark" thing makes a great deal of the river accesible, but you just have to be prepared for the water to increase in flow. I think an IK was the best way....
There is some public access on the Middle Fork, not sure what it is all called. There is also a private club there that has the access to that tunnel. The Tunnel is some cool fishing, but, like I...
I fished this with a friend last year. We had inflatable kayaks and went from run to run, got out and fished. This was a low water day with flows around 350 cfs, as opposed to normal flows of...
I used to have the DVR set for Familiar Waters, but then it seemed like they weren't filming it for a while... glad to see it back. Just set the DVR again.
Yeah, the industry seems to have more drama than a Mexican soap opera. I read TU's story, but didn't put it together with the Fly Fishing Show and ISE and California.
Wish I could get out fishing...
I've noticed that some of the folks I'd expect at the Fly Fishing Show are headed to ISE instead. Anyone know what's happening industry-wise to see that change? Is the Fly Fishing Show in for a big...
Following up on the thread a while back about bonefish mortality, the Pirates of the Flats show on ESPN will be looking at C&R practices this coming weekend (is it too early to be looking forward to...
Cheers. I have the Caribbean Colors sharpie set, so I'll bust out some green and mixed.

Hi all, I've been pretty happy with how my velcro crabs are turning out, but I'm wondering about color. Looking at actual crabs in Chico's book, several crabs are almost white, maybe a little gray....
Congrats. Very cool.
I know the guy who got number 130... one of those fish, I'm pretty sure, was a sucker. ;-)

I tied THESE with dumbell eyes... I've been mixing up the eyes from dumbell to chain to mono... different weights for differnt depths. #2's, #4's and #6's. I'll need a caddy just for my fly boxes...
I am incapable of tying two of the same fly... I am finding that out. I was just sitting here tying up some Gotcha's, making some slight variations, and I'm wondering if this is even a good idea or...
That is fantastic stuff... after my couple weeks in Vallarta it was fun to see not only a few of the species I caught but a BUNCH more... fantastic stuff. That just looks like pure fun.

Thanks all for the advice!

I tied one up today with lead eyes... need the superglue to dry and then I'll give it a couple of plops in the sink. Funny thing will be when I actually go to the Bahamas and don't use any of these....
OK... clearly more help is needed... I've figured out how to stop the spinning... so, one problem taken care of.
Now... there are two more issues that have come up from putting the VC in a tub of...
Turns out the some scientists think you have a pretty good idea here... here are the conclusions from the same group of scientists looking at bonefish mortality in another study...
