The ELT 1144 is the upgrade to this rod, and at MSRP it was twice the price. And, quite honestly, it isn't twice the rod. Some prefer the NV2 to the ELT.
I've fished Anderson's 4 weight on trout...
Guides around here have settled around $600 a day, and honestly, I think it's pretty unsustainable if you plan on making it a career. It's probably going to 650 or 700 within a year or two. It's just...
I know water hasn't been great, but how has the boat treated you? Any good trips that you've taken to christen the boat?
Hey dude - I mean that sounds great and I think that's a lot of value in that price point, but I'm a ways out before I can finance those kinds of trips. I hope you find someone; Skating up a 20lb...
The study I linked absolutely was about steelhead.
I'd appreciate the source. I found this one, though it was a thesis (not making it any less credible):

It's promising...
That's *too many* boats.
You bet you can! If it's something tied up to be used for fly fishing, you can swing it!
Worst case scenario, you launch a fly into a tree, make Brian row across river to grab it using an oar, and nervously laugh as he fuddle-f***s about while you helplessly stare from across shore...

The Sept 13/14 swing day is a killer deal. If I didn't have to work (I'm seriously considering calling in sick so I can go) I'd have scooped up this up.
Sounds cool man. I don't have a drift boat, but I do have a two man raft that I use up here in NorCal. I can't make you a trout fisherman using a bobber, because I've pretty much sworn that type of...
Hey buddy.
Take me fishing for drum and I'll put you on some trout
Hmm....
(looking at my muddlers)
I might have to tie some of you puppies on during my next outing at the Yuba....
I had a 10 fish day with Brian on the T last winter, swinging. Having a fish porpoise on a skated fly beat out those 10 fish. I still dream about it.
Not sure how I missed you! That was me for sure!
We must have missed each other. I was out in my big green Outcast Striker. Wave, "Hi" if you see me! I never see anyone else swinging on the Yuba.
I'll be swinging on Tuesday, hell or highwater. Don't know about the hell part, but there's sure to be high water.
Definitely would have shown up and said to myself, "Well ok then. I think I'm going to go get a beer instead."
Is it really worth fishing, even for double digits, if you're bumping lines with 5+ other anglers? That just sounds like a nightmare to me.
Can I take it on a test drive on the Feather from about, let's say, 7am to about 5pm? Just to make sure it really works and fishes. You know, it's important to know these things.
I kind of feel like this thread is an advertisement. It's very strange.
Salt fishing is a different monster I'm no expert on, but if you've ever been steelheading, your mindset really isn't equipped for it.
Shhhhhh. The Trinity is awful. Don't go there. Definitely not worth fishing.
I'm about to throw a snorkel on and scout ahead because I'm pretty sure that I'm swinging through empty runs.
