I think it might be bigger than your new baby. Well done Peter!!!!
I took my nephew yesterday. He’s new to fly fishing so I equipped him with an indicator set up. Only five float tubes on the whole lake. A guide from Crawley his first time, us and two experienced...
You might consider that a full moon is this Thursday. It surely will make it tougher for you.
Thanks Jeff for your daily reports and insight. I for one appreciate your generous and helpful efforts you share with us everyday. Thank you:)
You and Marlyn were the best fly fishing ambassadors a sport could have Bill. Thanks for helping me find the fly fishing bug:)
Thanks Jeff for your kindness and generosity. Jeff gave us a gift of flies that caught many of our fish today He also was guiding us right to the fish. Now I know a few of his spots :)
Jeff thank you for being so generous and gracious with your flies and knowledge of the river. My friend ended up with five shad. It would have been 0 without your help. Thank you very much :)
Sailor Bar and Upper Sunrise are the only places I feel safe to park my car.
It is on the list to get stocked next week. If you can get there launch at the dam end since the PG&E campground won’t be open yet.
Just to get out these days is a treat. To catch wild fish sweeten the days even more. Thanks for sharing.
Hmmm :) Try reading this tomorrow and see if you still think you saw what you saw. HA!!!!
So many ways to catch or find fish. It’s fun thinking out of the box. I love fishing!!!!!
Thanks for the report Peter. The fishy pic looks like you got into a good one. I noticed you aren’t doing the shore fishing you did last year. You utilizing your spidey senses and going out further...
You’re right Lee, it was Ed. I don’t have live view so it’s a pick your likely spot anchor and hope they come by me. Your day sounds like a good one for the few numbers of fish in the schools.
I...

Thanks Katz for the encouraging report. There must have been a morning bite and afternoon bite. Had a friend leave about when you started and got the same number. Things are looking up:)

Good question. I think your timeline is correct for most bodies of waters in the valley. Clearlake’s season for crappie is starting now and gets better as the spawning starts taking place.
Will do Bob. I think our fishing skills vs our patience for Pyramid is waning thin. Maybe wait a little longer for more fish to come closer to shore.
I used both a floating line with a midge or balanced leech or an intermediate line with a nymph or wooly bugger.
I got hooked last year on crappie fishing at Clearlake. I went only twice but I put it in my calendar to get back again close to the same time of the year. The crappie are in a pre-spawn mode so they...
You are so right about the big fish Peter. My friend's biggest fish so far this year is 15#. Last year i believe he had three over twenty.
