Congratulations on the move and early retirement.
THAT was awesome.
Of all the goofy things, I stole some crafts pliers from my wife for smashing barbs. They have short, fine, round jaws that somehow seem to work perfectly. They pass the cotton ball test but leave...
Zero need to wait until March to fish the pit. Once the flows drop back to normal in mid December it will be back to "fish on" like normal.
Access and posting via kindle isn't very good. :(
Look up mendocinno plat maps or parcel maps. GIS mapping with ownership of parcels is available on line. It will show public land as well as...
:(
They usually drop flows temporarily about now for maintenance then ramp them back up until mid October.
Well that pretty much kills the Pit through mid December. It fished well for me last winter with almost zero pressure. Everybody else is out chasing steel.
Lots of nice fish used to be in Lavazolla. I fished it a lot when I worked for the USFS in 1990. Lots and lots of bears and cranky old miners as well.
Wow that's a memory from the past, I had forgotten all about Bel Lange. Google shows he lived to be 88, sounds like he had a good run at life.
The only local show (radio) I know about currently...
From personal experience. Dave's hopper, Yuba in July and August.
You can find used dive fins all day long on craigslist for dirt cheap. You don't need anything special. I've used the same cheapo fins for over 20 years with plain neoprene waders. With my G3's I...
I've done a LOT of float tube time up at lake Berryessa. I've used the outcast ones that slip over your wading boot and to be honest, they suck. You are much better off just using dive fins without...
His response comes across to me as being in honest good faith and blissful ignorance.
Thats the first thing I thought, fishing and not having my Lab in the water or after a hooked fish.
Best wishes to you finding a new pup. Mine are all old and gray, putting me into your shoes...
These are the cats meow in the kayak world. You could probably cobble some stuff together for your pram. They do sell kits and components. Use the balloon tires.
I fished Pit 3 this morning. Weather was perfect this morning, no snow, no hail, no rain, no wind and fishing wasn't bad either.....until 9am. Temps were down in the 20's but really weren't that...
I purchased this model for kayaking in the ocean but also take it with me on other excursions. It fits nicely in my life jacket, fishing vest or pack. It takes up very little space and makes me...
Work got in the way and rather than rush, I postponed until Saturday. This morning in Burney btw....

I know it's short notice. The above trip did not pan out, but I'm looking to head up either this Friday or Saturday (prefer Friday) for a day trip. With weather conditions, I'm driving my Jeep. ...
Letting them go :D
I have 5 boxes (lost a couple) with little rhyme or reason to assortment other than a small glo bug box only and another for fishing the Pit. They all fit and stay in my vest.
None of the three were wearing pfd's either. If I'm in a boat or on my kayak the pfd stays on. No fatalities in that incident was surprising.
I've had a blue porch light for years :)
I've only seen one pig at putah; early 80's, I tried too kill it with a stick....LONG story but worthy of a couple fingers of bourbon around a campfire.
User self regulation seems to be working fine. I'd choose to leave the gov't out of it, less you end up with November-April.
When I went to HSU back in 86-89 that little section of river produced a lot of nice steelhead. Reading up on " volatile solvents to produce various cannabis products" is basically butane used in a...
