Agree, if this was on a Facebook page it could be seriously over exposed. You have some real-deal guys on this site that other folks like me can learn from.
Caught a few in CT Bill when my wife’s family had a place there.
I was really after Stipers but the blues were fun. Got one about 6lbs. Great fighting fish, not an easy release !
Heading up with family for few days next week.
I’ve not fished it for a few years and only once in winter.
Not asking for any hot spots but would appreciate any advice on stretches / access...
i keep missing these posts !
sold (on FB marketplace)
Thanks Bill
Always thought I’d use it on pontoon but never have and we are trying to clear stuff out - too many things in the garage !
Bought it a few years ago and have never used it.
$80.
Pick up in San Rafael,
Still available.
Selling this solid pontoon that I’ve used in Stillwater (Almanor, Manzanita, Baum) and rivers (Lower Sac).
One of the valves has a slow leak but I’ve bought two new valves that I’ll include for...
Double down on what’s been said.
Bill you’ve clearly contributed so much to the local fishing community.
Your life in Florida sounds wonderful.
Losing Kienes and Cal fly Fisher is a real shame.
The only time I made it into the store he provided me with flies for a trip to the Yuba - 💯 put me on the fish with the right stuff -and really nice guy.
Not surprised Bob yours always go so quickly. I’ll try to keep my eyes peeled !
always enjoy a peek into other peoples fly boxes
Would love to buy this selection or even some of them so do let me know !
Sorry Bob was hoping this was a stellar day on Pyramid.
Thanks Lance, always a great read. Used your smelt patterns at Almanor and they really did the trick. Will be hitting you up when the online store is ready!
Thanks for for the report - sounds like a great trip. How large were your midges and how deep?
I might try get up next week for my first trip there, not sure how the rain will affect it.
Anywhere to stay up there ? Imagine camping getting pretty cold by now, lows look to be high teens which is too cold for me!
Only been up there on two occasions.
It’s truly world-class, the fish are pretty incredible.
Hopefully the fishery is managed carefully.
Bill do you or do you know Hal Jansen?
Bought his book few years ago, incredible depth of knowledge in that body of work.
Lots of expert knowledge in this forum and community.
Thanks Bill.
Have not fished Eagle but want to get up there. Those rainbows look mint.
Thanks for the post
Agree on usage of the site
I’m been struggling with site load times and photos but worth the effort.
Had a 3 night trip last week.
Decided to hit Almanor as have not fished during smelt time.
2 1/2 days on the water via pontoon boat.
First half day landed 3, second day 4 and final day...
Fish of a lifetime
Well done !
