fun stuff! congratulations! Feeling like I need to brush up on my casting. May be time to poke around on the American.
Great JOB! I never fished the American this early in the year, I guess with the climate changes, etc (or maybe not!) the run started
earlier; Of course, I know nuttin about the American. I used to fish it in NOV on to late Feb on weekends. Sorta of a home town river.
Keep up the good work.
Regards, gene
Gosh, good for you!
I've been swinging Watt and B Pond area for a few weeks now and the biggest fish I've hooked is a 6" parr.
Nice job, keep at it!
Very cool...........congratulations.
What a dandy! Still learning myself, what set up were you using??
ACR Nova II, Hardy Bougle, 250 Commando, T8 tip and a sculpin
Seems like in the last 10 years or so locals Andy Guibord and Mark Kranhold together developed their own version of a small Sculpin for the lower American river.
In the Fall, by choice, I only use small insect wet flies, a tapered leader and a floating line to swing in the surface, early and late, but I am guessing Andy and Mark always use sink-tips with their sculpin pattern?
Over the last 50 plus years many have used the Lower American river as a learning center for fly fishing moving water.
