Any reel suggestions for a Sage One, 7 wt., 12'-6" long? Steelhead, Striper and small Salmon.
So far I'm considering a Waterworks Lamson Guru II HD, 3.5 size. Too big?

No, should be fine....might be a little too light for balance?
The 4.0 would be OK too. You could load it with 30# Dacron/Micron.
**A common mistake is to have too small of reel and/or too light of reel for a Spey rod.
Ross CLA 5 in grey mist, if you can find one somewhere.
Yes guru 4. It’s what I used on mine when I owned one. I have a 7wt tcx and 7 method now and still use the 4.0 Lamson reels.
Hardy St. John 3-3/4" from 1920-1930. You'll look super cool on the river!
I went into the fly shop and Joe Vasquez set me up with an Orvis Clearwater in 7 weight with and Orvis Battenkil Click and Pawl that I really like. It balances out well and what was in my budget. I will say in my opinion the drag needs to be set at the lowest setting and broken in but it's been a great reel for the one season I've had it.

Ended up buying the Guru II HD 4.0 at Kiene's Fly Shop..... Right after I found a very lightly used Lamson ARX 3.5+ (not a nick or scratch on it) on Ebay for $275. The ARX appears to have more line capacity and is about 1.6 oz. heavier than the Guru 4.0.
Yes totally agree with that, just fill with plenty backing :)
