Years ago we saw old split cane Spey rods with giant English reels on them..........

30 to 40 years ago you couldn't give away a giant English split cane Spey rod and big English fly reel.

People for decades brought in giant split cane antique Spey rods with reels and line that came over here from Europe with their grand fathers.

They inherited them and would bring them by our shop to see what they could do with them.

We told them they could stake up their tomatoes with 4 foot sections of the 16 foot cane rods and use the reels as a boat anchor.

I am serious........so sad.
