Lower Sac Report
Fished the lower Sac last Thursday from Bonny View to Balls Ferry. Got into quite a few fish throughout the day bobber fishing with Brown Rubber Legs and eggs. Didn't see any caddis or mayflies. Water clarity was pretty good at about 3 feet or so. Flow was just under 8K. Didn't see much traffic on the river.

They fish the Lower Sacramento River almost year round now but big caddis emergence time seems to be April/May.
October is Mike Mercer's favorite time because the fish fight really hard then.
Nor Cal guide Lincoln Gray likes Jan/Feb/March for the King salmon alevin bite. He fishes one of Tim Fox's "Pale Alevin" patterns under
an indicator from a drift boat, naturally.
The Lower Sacramento River has one of the best populations of large wild Rainbow trout in California.
