Monterey Surf help needed

I'll be in Monterey the week of April 6. Anyone have any advice for the surf. Favorite beaches, guide recommendations, or anything else you can offer.

Monterey County is under a shelter in place order until April 8th. Central Coast Fly Fishing is supposed to be closed but call Geoff as I'm sure he can make accommodations if you need to buy flies. Santa Cruz is also under a similar order but I don't know for how long. Some of us are still fishing the beaches but we aren't sure if we can under this order.

We haven't encountered any official people to find out but we are also avoiding such encounters by fishing the more secluded beaches.

If you decide to fish, please wear a personal flotation device and a stripping basket is a must.

Thanks for the info. We're under a somewhat less onerous order here in Sacramento County. More advisory than mandatory.

At any rate, I think fishing falls under "essential" activities as defined at least in the Alameda County order.
