Feather River Shad

I fished the Feather below Shanghai this weekend. There where a lot of boats on the water, but I didn't see too many folks boating fish. The bite hit for us at 5:30 and was non stop till we left the water at 8:00. There was another fly fisherman below our boat doing quite well too. The difference was in the presentation, not gear. My son was using spinning gear and had no action until he mimicked side casting, then it was on. They where taking it on the drift. Color didn't seem to matter.
