Those old dudes are way above me in "guts, drive and go power."
In my 50 years in the sporting goods/fishing tackle industry I met those kind of real tough old men who were in World War II.
When going to college I worked nights, 7 days a week, in the summer at Hunt's Cannery in Davis, CA.........1960s.
I met an old Englishman working there who was one of the real "British Commandos" in World War II.
Then he was fat, bald and in old overalls with no shirt so he didn't look too dangerous then.
Somehow we hit it off and ate lunch together around midnight in this noisy old cannery.
He told me some incredible stories that no one could make up unless they were there.
Because of these great men, and their equally special wives, it is called "The Greatest Generation."
The ones who survived, came back home to America and made it what it is today.
I not sure if the World has as many amazing men today of this quality anymore........?
If you look at our all volunteer US military armed forces you will find them.
Go to your local firehouse to meet some good men as well.
Wild land firefighter are as close to "Commandos " as we have in America.
Our wonderful law enforcement folks try to keep us safe while putting themselves in danger, daily.
