Picture of bugs
Just in case you did see my post in the "General" area.
I was lucky enough to have this morning off from work, so I headed out to a local trout stream.

I didn't catch a darn thing but I saw a lot of bugs emerging. I had a bunch of fun just taking pictures of them. There were a bunch of little yellow sallies, some fat weird stonelfies (that I couldn't identify) and some large grayish mayflies.
Here's a few pictures>
Grayish mayfly nymph, swimmer type. It almost looks like an Isonychia, but it's not.

The same grayish mayfly adult, sorry it's not closer, the sun was coming from the wrong direction.

A couple of little yellow sally (LYS) adults. Note the bright orange/pink marking on the second picture, very cool. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/IMGP2095.jpg

A LYS drying it's wings shortly after emerging. Once again, the bright markings look awesome!

A LYS nymph.

That funky little stonefly emerging. Short and fat body, very strange.

Is that some kind of short wing stone fly ??
I know males have very short wings and can not fly but can run like crazy on the water.
But I have only seen them on the Yuba and they almost look like a Skwala stone fly.

Rob, they didn't have short wings but their wings were upright for a long time, I never saw them down, it was weird..... they looked like a big, fat, tail-less mayfly. I grabbed a few to check them out more, they were definitely stoneflies, but not very typical. Their nymphal shucks were short and squatty, very strange.
Thanks Andy, when are you going post some of your awesome pictures?

Funky Stones....
Cool Photo's.... The wings on the fat, short funky Stonefly are probably still folded upon breaking the shuck....
Hmmm,.... Funky Stone kinda sounds like a member of the old rock group, "Sly and the Family Stone".... :D :D :D :D

Darian, I was referring to the wings after the uncurled and straightened out. I was not talking about wings like those found in the picture, I'm not a moron! :P
