Red Lake Report 07/08/2020

Well today's Red Lake Report is going to be short and not so sweet. :mad::mad:

Blasted off at 8:30, made my Minden pit stop and was at Red @ 9:45 and first cast @ 10:00.

-------side note------- most of the cars parked in Hope Valley this morning were hikers and this afternoon most of the cars parked in Hope Valley were "lawn chair families" going to the creek. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

The water temperature today was cool, so I opted to wet-wade again.

So, from 10:00 till 2:30..................................... I only had 3 strikes, 0 landed, 0 LDR'd. :mad::mad:
I fished the same area I've been doing well at for over a month with the same fly pattern too. :mad::mad:

I guess the fish have gone deeper, or to the other end of the lake, or were frightened by a river otter, or a Badger. ;);)

Packed it up @ 2:30 and made a bee-line for home.

I may have to go up a little higher next time.

And for the ride home........ a Gatorade and a Payday candy bar. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Tough outing. Maybe they are going a little deeper as the water warms.

My mom eats the Payday bar. I bought her a couple of king size recently. That is her insurance against the hangries and she does get them sometimes.

Yep, I do believe they've gone deeper.
After all this July. :p:p

Next outing may include the float tube and a sinking line. :confused::confused:


Payday bars..............a nice treat after fishing...........I usually skip lunch when I fish and "wolf down" what ever I brought afterwards.

I get the "hangries" quite often too. :D:D
