Heenan Lake report from CFFU trip

CFFU,
It was a beautiful day at Heenan Lake last Friday. Participants were: Garfy Eastman; Dell Clark; Russ Heckley; Joe Puglisi; Bill Hetland; Ron Lee; Dick Angus; Robert Rountree; and yours truely. After a hearty breakfast at the Buttercup Pantry in Placerville, we got to the lake about 8:45 or so and launched our tubes and pontoon boats. Robert started catching right away and came away with hooking and landing 13. I believe everyone else filled out one requirement for the heritage trout certificate. though I was not able to confirm that with all the participants. I know Gary did very well and Dell and I got 6 to the net, and Russ also caught at least one. The wind came up about 1:00 or 2, and fishing got a little tougher. We all pulled out about 4:30 or 5, and headed downhill for the trip home. A little tired, but I think everyone had a good time.

Heenan Lake will just get better. It is usually open Friday, Saturday and Sunday in September and October every year.

It usually gets better in October as it cools down........
