This AM caught & rleased my first winter Rogue steelhead. A 22" hatchery fish on a Size 8 bead head nymph. So far a very poor winter run.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...ead13Mar09.jpg

well done, that is a nice fish
Very nice Gordon! Sorry to hear it's been such a poor run this year.
Hey gordon
Do you fish your trusty nymph on the swing?, high stick it?, indicator nymph it?, combo of all of the above?
Thanks for any info. I know that whatever you do is effective by the nice pics. you post-thanks for those.
slim
Slim: Do about 90% of both my summer & winter steelhead fishing using an indicator but I also at the end of the cast let it swing around to directly below me. Use a two fly set up where the top fly is a weighted egg pattern and the bottom fly is the bead head ice chenille nymph.
Great Gordon,
Do you catch any Sea-run Cutthroats up there?
Nice fish! Sorry to hear about your poor fishing conditions.
Bill: In a typical year will catch 2-4 cutthroat from about 13"-17"s. None to hand in the 2008/2009 season.
