I have a buddy who is looking for a Garcia Kingfisher GK-42 reel. Even just a frame would work. Doesn’t need to be a collector reel - just fishable.

Must be a pretty rare fly reel because, in my 50 years, I don't remember seeing one?
I don't have that one, but I have a few of that vintage if he wants to go with something else.

He’s got one he fishes on a same era Fenwick glass and wants to duplicate the set up. The Garcia Kingfisher fly reels were a variation on the Hardy Lightweight clone theme. The Heddon 300 series (also badged as Daisy reels), the Eagle Claw EC10 series, and the Berkley 500 series were all made in Japan in the 70s and 80s. They all have three sizes that matched the Hardy Featherweight, LRH, and Princess reels. They are all very good little click pawl trout reels.
I thought that little drag knob on the rim looked familiar.
Yes, Now I remember some of those other fly reels that were copies of the Hardy Lightweight series, made in Japan.
They were kind of nice little inexpensive reels.
Thanks again Rich for your vast knowledge of fly fishing tackle.

I have some old Fenwick fiberglass fly rods that I take out now and then, mostly with very old Pflueger Medalists on them.
Found one. Thanks all.
