With my fishing buddy we hit the Trinity on Thursday. Just drove into Bucktail access and started fishing when the rains came. We decided to get out of there before the pass got too much snow. Friday we hired a guide (Jim Roberts) and floated the Upper Klamath from just below Iron Gate to the Klamathon bridge. We caught 14 steelhead, most in the 3 to 6 pound range, mainly on egg patterns droppers. I did manage to hook and lose one hog on a large stonefly pattern. The water was high and clear by upper Klamath standards. It was an amazing day. The sun was out for most of the trip and it was almost warm when the sun was on you.

It sounds like you had a great trip on the Upper Klamath . I haven't hit the Klamath for a few weeks and it sounds like I should be . Were the fish still bright or showing a lot of color ?

They were showing a little color, but were in excellent shape, and fighting well.
