For the last few days I havent been able to find my dubbing wax. I could find the lid but not the tube. Well I just found it. On the carpet behind a reclining chair and right by a heating register. Now the tube has a lot less wax in it and the carpet now has a lot more. Not just on the top but really in the carpet.

Any advice on how I can get the melted wax out of the carpet?

Thanks in advance
Matt

You might consider trying to apply ice to the waxy area and then break it up with something like a flat, dull blade.... Gum is frequently removed using this method. 8) 8) 8)

You might try placing a small towel or old shirt on top of the wax, then hit it with the blow dryer. The wax should melt into the towel?

I think my mother used to put a cotton t-shirt over the wax then iron it. The wax will stick to the shirt. At least it used to work on table clothes. Let us know how you make out.

Dubbin wax :?: Never used the stuff.

I was gunna suggest that you just tim off the capet fibers in the area and mix it up as prewaxed dubbin.

After being recommended to freeze it, get it hot, cut it out, WD-40, and since I dont have a dog, I decided to use Jay's technique and covered it up for bit. I prefer to drink the Vodka so I didnt try that method. I decided to bring in a professional to get my carpets clean. He used a clear gel called Hydramaster OJ Orange-Jel Jellied Solvent Gum Remover, and it came right out with minimal effort. Thanks for all the input!
