Rancho Seco Lake this weekend?

Has anyone fished the derby this weekend, or the days that followed? any good fortune?

I fished Rancho Seco Dec. 13, there were 4 of us fishing the north end of the lake, and we caught 15 fish between us. SMUD planted Rancho Seco with 1000 lbs. of Donaldson trout for the trout derby. These trout are a combination of rainbow, cutthroat, and steelhead trout, and they feed along the shore line, and within 5 ft. of the surface. A perfect trout for fly fishing with a floating line, a 10 ft leader with 8 lbs tippet of fluorocarbone 3-4 ft long, and a small wiggle tail size 10-12 (dark color fly low light, light color fly bright day). These fish are 2-7 lbs, and they like to jump and run right into the weed bed. fishon gene goss
