I was able to take the boat out for two hours on Monday after the weekend storms. The water shows no effect of run-off and is still very clear by delta standards. The water temperatures have not risen and were from 49 through 51 depending on location.

The fish were willing once found. I released four fish within an hour's time, all on the bluegill pattern. The latter part of the week (Thursday, Friday) is looking pretty good as far as weather and wind are concerned!

Hey Jerry,

Glad to hear you can still get out there and get some stripers :) ! I hope the weather gets a little nicer here pretty soon. Got my window fixed on the truck and looking forward to getting back out there and make some fishing adjustments from what I learned last time.

This weekend however I am going to switch gears a little and fish the Lower Sac for trout on Saturday. Wish me luck!

I've sight fished for rainbows in Redding that would rival the size of most of the stripers we're catching. One of my favorite areas was on the west bank just below the filtration plant. Water has to be low enough to wade or you'll definately need your canoe or kayak!

Rip lips or at least leave a "business card" stuck in their jaw!
