I second the report Mike. After waiting to see if anyone had anything to say I decided to take a shot today. The most action I saw was a girl flirting with me on the freeway on the way home  .... I really hope this season picks up soon

Well it's still a little early yet for the big boys to come into the river. I have found that about the middle of Dec. things start picking up. I'm a little worried though looking at the Salmon run. I didn't see one beader lined up today where there are usually 10 - 15 guys. The salmon may be done, I just hope the Salmon run doesn't give an indication of the Steelhead run. It could be a long cold winter around here. Golf is starting to look real good!

Nothing, nada, zilch!

Buck up .

You're one of the VERY few I've seen that can clean-house on a run (don't argue , I've seen you do it many times) .

If you ain't into 'em ..... they aren't around .

Sooner or later ......

Well I'm about ready to quit fishing and take up golf! By the way when is that fly fisherman's swap meet? I could proabably get a sleeve of Titleists for all of my stuff!

Just kidding, must be the wine talking :? Back to the yard work!

By God you're right David, I got both of those suckers that were in the run I was fishing today 8) Thanks for the kind words.

Hey Adam, they get shorter every time I'm out :x The next one will just say "American Report" on the subject line!

You're right Jbird, you guys have had it pretty rough up there. Reminds me of the beginning of this year around here. Ok, I'm changing my ways.

"New American Report!"

Lucky enough to get out today and hit the American around Glenn Hall Park. Swung some Buggers down through some promising water and was lucky enough to pick up a couple of Suckers. Also had a grab that felt like a 8" smolt but missed it. Not a sole on the river but me and the weather was perfect. Can't wait to get out again

Tee time at 12:04 tomorrow! 8)

I feel better, time for bed!

Good night now!

Hey Mike, sounds like it's been real tough out there. . . . But knowing you, I bet everyone else has been in the same boat. Really enjoyed your short report though.

The canadian return wasn't too bad just late. That had more to do with low water than anything else. Also note that the Deschutes had a great return this year. I think what we're seeing is the rains haven't hit yet. Fish like to move on a falling hydrograph and it's been rock steady most of the past couple months. It's not all doom and gloom.

I went out yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours and got a couple of smolts and a halfpounder. It was nice to get out since I work at UC Davis and it's normally dark by the time I get back to Sac. Jeff

Hey Mike.

Feeling down on myself about not fishing much, I stopped by an easy access/secret spot on my river today. The good Lord smiled on me for my long sabaticle, bringing 9 fish to my fly and 5 of those to hand :D I was totally stunned by the quality of the fishing considering the cold. I lost a fish that was 10-11# easy, it jumped like a tarpon, to eye level with me. I fought it in all the way and had made 2 attempts to beach it. The next time I went to turn its head to knock it off ballance, the hook slid out pretty as you please. Dispite not getting a photo, I love it when that happens.
I was lazy with the camera, but did get it out for this "bar of rogue river gold" A beautiful cutt.

MSP - it's been said, but, at least you're are fishing! It's a good report.

I went down to the beach to chase some SRC's this week, it was so cold/windy out on the point at the beach by my house, I didn't even make a cast! Well, at least it wasn't snowing!

Hey JeffC, I'm glad to see there is hope. Good job!

Jbird, maybe I should take a little time off. Seemed to work for you. You just gotta love it when you get into fish like that. Glad to see you got out. Great looking Cutt you got there. That 10#er sounded like a great time. Nothing better than looking a Steelie eye to eye! Looks like I need to get out of town! Nice report.
