I heard from Charlie Fullerton, retired director of CA DF&G, that the Feds where trying to get the dams taken off the Klamath River or they would have to put really functional and very expensive fish ladders around them.

Here is an article on the subject that was sent to mer by Aaron Stiny:

PS: If you want a fishing shack anywhere near the Klamath River you might buy it soon before the price go up.

Disclaimer - I mean NO OFFENSE to the folks of the fine City of Hornbrook ...... really .

I still can't believe that the powers- that- be couldn't bother w/ a ladder of some sort when they put-in Iron Gate or John Boyle . It's a nice thought ..... The Klamath back to where it was in the early 50's ....

You might have to know Hornbrook to see the humor. I used to run a delivery route up there and I always eyeballed that shack on the south side of the river after you cross the bridge on I-5. Looks abandoned, but might become prime real estate.

Hi Ed .

My mouth gets juicy whenever I cross the I-5 bridge and look at that stretch . Lovely water ..... 8)

My 'stab' was mainly directed at Californication (which really has nothing to do w/ Bill's post ) - return that river to what it used to be ..... and watch 'em flock to it and build a massive city . We seem to be living is a state of uncontrolled growth :(

I remember fishing the ponds in Lincoln 15 years ago ...... it was hard to see any traffic there back then .

No matter , no dams=good news . I just get side-tracked sometimes

What was the subject again :? ??

David :)
