Klamath
Trinity
Rogue
Umpqua
Deschutes
Methow?

Normally the water is not too cold in October so the fish are more active.

The Rogue River is the coldest because it is coming out of the dam.

When a lot of salmon are spawning it kind of hurts the classic techniques.

When I retire or hit the lotto I will be a on the Grand Ronde, Klamath and Trinity in Sept/Oct. I mean for the entire time, in an RV or cabin.

If you have time and money and your health you should be fishing right now.

Hey Bill,
A year ago we were on the Grand Ronde!!!! Bet Scott is having a better week this week than last year as last year he was in emergency from his rattlesnake bite!!

I think the Grand Ronde is the friendliest Steelhead water I have fished.

I wonder how it is going for them this Fall?

just fished the Trinity Sunday 10/22, around Del loma.
several fish in the river, none on my line though.
missed a couple strikes using a copper john

several were coming to the surface which is something i've not seen steelies do much. perhaps i should have tried a dry since there was lots of bugs, would it have been worth trying to 'match the hatch' when going for steelhead?

There can be October Caddis activity now.

In Feb/March there are stonefly and mayfly hatches on the Trinity River if there is no flooding.

This happens on the lower Yuba as well if the water it not too high.
