Headed up to the Trinity over the weekend after hearing some remarkable reports. Fished my honey hole from last year all day Sat. without so much as a bump. The fish census guy checked in on me 4 times and he didn't have a lot to tell me from the other fishermen he checked. He did say that an Indian got 23 Salmon on Friday night at Tish Tang which he said was the largest count so far. JasonH met up with me for the last couple of hours on Sat.
Sunday we went back to the honey (less) hole for a couple of hours in the morning with no results. There were some fish moving through but we couldn't get them to open their mouths. Went to Tish Tang to check out that area for Jason, he is up there till Friday. Saw many Salmon moving up the riffle. Jason got a skinny 1/2#er and that was about it. The fish counter caught up with us and said a guy fishing just upstream of us at the honey hole had hooked up 4 times with nice Steelies on spinners. Hmmm? Oh well, I think the fish are ready to really get going very soon. Last year the Stellhead bite came on just as the salmon started moving through in big numbers, which I saw at Tish Tang. Jason called and said he hung 3 yesterday, a 3#, 6# he got to hand and lost a bright fish around 10#. I guess I should have stayed another day. The fish turned on last year like a switch for me and I'm hoping it's starting for Jason. We'll find out when he returns. That's about it, going to hit it again in a couple of weeks. Get ready guys!
