Hi Guy -

I'm using old , discontinued SA 41 foot shooting heads (uniform sink) and Orvis silver-label 38 foot heads on my Loop 8/9 blackline and TFO 12x12 .
I cut down the SA type 3 head to 36 feet for the Loop , and it is great ! I've yet to get my cast together w/ the TFO , however ....

Airflow makes a cold saltwater beach line (531 grains) that should be good .

Hope this helps .

Assuming you're going to overhead cast from the beach, I'd suggest the Airflo 40+ Beach Line or possibly the Rio Outbound lines. Overhead casting doesn't need nearly as heavy a line as spey casting the same rod. You do need to check whether your rod is rated using spey line weights or single hand line weights, which are very different. You also have to determine whether a particular line model is rated for spey or single hand rods. Rods designed for two hand overhead casting are sort of in a twilight zone as to line ratings.
