I'll be heading out to Littleton, Co for a veterinary externship at a hospital out there and was looking to do some fishing along the way...if you could stop and fish one river along or just off highway 88 which river would it be? I've never been past reno on 80, so any and all advice would be appreciated. I was thinking about the green river...any other ideas? Thanks!

If proximity is important and you're talking about Hwy 88 in Calif., you could easily reach the Mokelumne or the West and East Forks of the Carson River.... 8) 8)

Along Hwy 80 are the Little Truckee and the Truckee Rivers. 8) 8)

Inof about these and other rivers is avilable thru the website for the Reno Fly Shop or other Tahoe area outfitters.... 8) 8) 8)

Try the Middle Provo in Utah.

It's near Heber, about a 20 minute drive off I 80, the next (I think) exit past Park City.

Heber has a fly shop (Four Seasons?), and there's one outside Park City (Trout Bum?).

The Provo has lot's of drive up access and an amazing amount of fish - more than any river I've seen in California.

Have fun

Two words.

Truckee River.
