The wading was challenging but not as difficult as we had been lead to beleive. We were wading superstars.

The next day Gregg and I fished the Fall River from 11 until dark.

Swinging a small PT on an intermediate sinking line caught these fish.

The Pit, Fall, Burney Creek and Hat Creek all look great.

I have never seen the Burney Falls so that is great.

Thanks

Nice pictures and report Adam. Looks like you and gregg had a great time. I fished the fall for the first time this year and while the fishing was lousy i fell in love with that place. A really great area for photography as well.

Looks like a fun trip, Adam. Nice pics. How's that polarizing filter working out on your camera?

Adam,
:) Thanks so much for a grand pictorial of your fishing trip. The waters looks prime, the settings stunning and the anglers triumphant! Wow!

Sounds like you guys had a great time. I love fishing the Pit, isn't it great water? Not much of a fan of HAT myself, but one of these days I want to fish the Fall. I never would have thought you could swing a fly on it, care to elaborate how you did it a little? Always thought it was a only a Fall River Twitch type of fisherey.

Andre, I'm not much of a fan of the Fall River Twitch...it's more of a last resort for me. I'd rather try swinging nymphs or streamers during the slower times of the day when the fish are not rising.

I used a 10' leader with about 2' of 6x fluorocarbon tippet and a #18 regular pheasant tail nymph. I would quarter downstream (more downstream than across) bump mend, feeding line downstream, allowing my intermediate line and fly to sink then let the slow current swing the line and nymph across and UP to the surface...then FISH ON! Very fun acatching healthy 14-16" trout, not just stupid juvenille trout.

Those Fall River Rainbow Trout are beautiful.

I love the darker olive back and the spotted golden bellies.
